Job Summary:

The Virtual Care Supervisor coordinates, implements, and evaluates business and clinical processes for the virtual care department. Provides direct supervision of virtual care staff, including performance management. Supports the design and implementation of effective virtual care programs. Accountable for planning, delivery, and evaluation of continuous improvement and service initiatives that meets or exceed established performance/outcome measures and standards for quality, access, cost, utilization, and customer satisfaction.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all InBasket support and employee supervision, including orientation, scheduling, evaluation, coaching, rewards/recognition, and corrective action. Assists with annual goals and reviews. Supervisor will support team in staff led huddles leading to continued process improvement.

  • Develops and refine processes, such as staff-led huddles, to assure smooth day-to-day operations for the team and efficient management of all messages. Escalates issues as appropriate to departmental manager.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert and resource for clinical teams on InBasket processes and workflows. Monitors adherence to established workflows and outreach to staff to provide feedback of InBasket status and plan to approach work.

  • Evaluates emergency situations and initiates appropriate interventions. Leads the response to medical emergencies.

  • Monitors patient and workflows, directs other clinical support staff in the delivery of patient care.

  • Leads or participates in quality improvement activities and/or initiatives.

  • Provides leadership to ensure the team meets or exceeds regional patient satisfaction targets and promotes on-going performance improvement. Addresses member concerns or needs and attempts to resolve in real time.

  • May perform other duties, as assigned.


Basic Qualifications: Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years nursing experience.

  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive supervisory/management experience.

Education
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Associates Degree RN or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire OR Practical Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to make decisions and set priorities based on customer needs and organizational priorities.
  • Experience developing and implementing effective programs and change initiatives.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of health care delivery in an ambulatory setting and quality assurance processes.
  • Effective team building skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Knowledge of computer skills, data base management, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art audio-visual instructional equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent clinical experience as an LPN/RN in acute care or ambulatory setting.
  • Bachelors Degree in Science in Nursing or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
