Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic Assistant Manager, Orthopedics for a nursing job in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Job Summary:
Coordinates daily operations of department/unit/clinic to ensure appropriate quality of care. Serves as liaison and facilitates communication between administration, physician, staff, patients and other departments. Participates in development and implementation of department goals and objectives. Supervises assigned staff.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Supervises and coordinates daily operations and staffing. Ensures high quality patient care services at optimal controllable cost.

  • Assess and monitors clinical nursing practice for optimal patient care. Designs and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum. Follows-up on all clinical issues.

  • Functions as liaison between administration, physician, staff, patients and other departments. Facilitates communication between physicians, staff and patients. Acts as patient advocate.

  • Participates in development and implementation of department goals and objectives. Ensures that department goals are met. Participates in or coordinates/leads various leadership, multidisciplinary teams and task forces meetings to improve patient care and services, control costs and/or meet other needs across continuum.

  • May perform patient care to the extent necessary to maintain clinical expertise, competency and licensing necessary to fulfill job responsibilities and to direct the provision of care on the unit.

  • Provides direct patient care on an as needed basis. Provides services that are within scope of license and in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and policy requirements relevant to clinical role performed.

  • Incorporates the KP Nursing Vision, Model and Values throughout their Nursing Practice.

  • Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff as appropriate.

  • Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years staff nurse experience.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration or health care related field; or four (4) years of directly related experience.


License, Certification, Registration

  • Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire



  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association


Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ambulatory Care supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

  • Nursing education/training experience.

  • Experience with an electronic medical record system.

  • Finance and/or business experience.

  • Knowledge of KP systems.

  • Experience with program improvement.

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration or a health care related field.
