Job Summary:
Treat patients on high energy Linear Accelerators. Schedule appointments and document charts. Communicate with patients regarding treatment procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Treat patients on high energy Linear Accelerators, enters appropriate treatment information on the patients treatment chart, schedule patients, explains thoroughly treatment procedure to patient, assists patient in assuming correct position and stresses the important of a constantly correct position.
- Under the Radiation Oncologists written prescription assures daily accurate set up and treatment of patient. Assures accurate documentation of daily treatment record as well.
- Notifies the senior Radiation Therapist, or, if appropriate the manager, for any maintenance or repair problems concerning machines/department. Keeps a daily accurate count on treatment patients and fields for annual departmental statistics and performs other related duties as necessary or directed.
- Serves as a clinical instructor to Radiation Therapy students assigned to our department and relays information pertaining to the students to the Clinical Supervisor as needed, participates in in services and staff meetings as required. Keeps treatment rooms and machines clean, neat, orderly and well stocked.
Basic Qualifications: Experience
- N/A
- Graduate of an approved radiation therapy school.
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Radiation Therapy Technologist
- Ability to operate linear accelerators.
- Five (5) years of experience in a radiation oncology department.
- Previous experience using Varian linear accelerators.
- Computer skills.
