Description

We are seeking a **_Health Educator_** for The Department of Oncology, Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) program.

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities:**

+ Implements education and outreach activities to the populations of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

+ Translates print materials, including study and educational materials, into languish understandable to non-medical populations

+ Conducts educational sessions to teach members of the community the basics of cancer prevention and control.

+ Disseminates health and cancer education materials to public, health care providers, and community organizations/partners.

+ Participates in scheduled COE community events to disseminate cancer risk reduction and screening information.

+ Establishes trusting relationships with community members and organizations while providing general support and encouragement

+ Maintains extensive knowledge about community resources and social supports appropriate to needs of community members and partners.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

+ Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: Min $17.00 - Max $30.00 HRLY (Targeted; $23.50 Commensurate with experience)
