Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Infectious Diseases Physician with expertise in Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) and Hepatitis C management to join our esteemed team at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the comprehensive care of patients across both outpatient clinics and inpatient settings. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to our diverse patient population and advancing the field of infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized care for patients requiring Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT), including assessment, initiation, and management of antimicrobial therapy in an outpatient setting.
  • Oversee the coordination and administration of OPAT services, collaborating closely with outpatient infusion centers, home healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Manage complex cases of Hepatitis C, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of antiviral therapy.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with infectious diseases in both outpatient clinics and inpatient settings, including history taking, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on best practices and patient-specific factors, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, consultations, and case conferences to provide expert recommendations and contribute to collaborative care.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about infectious diseases, treatment options, and preventive measures, promoting active engagement in healthcare decision-making.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational programs, to advance the understanding and management of infectious diseases.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Diseases.
  • Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases, with a focus on OPAT and Hepatitis C management preferred.
  • Current medical licensure in the state of Florida or eligibility for licensure.
  • Proven experience in managing OPAT services and Hepatitis C in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Strong clinical acumen and diagnostic skills, with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
