    Job Details
  • Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN's to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30).
  • IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour

  • Staffing Ratios: 1:4
  • Unit Information: Surgical PCU- almost ICU level acuity- ENT (Neck dissections, Mandibulectomy), Thoracic (Esophagectomy, Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy), General Surg. (Pancreatic, Bowel/ liver resections), Urology (Urinary diversions, cystectomies, RPLND), Medical overflow
    Job Requirements
  • Skillset Requirements: Minimum 2 years experience
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring- on unit monitoring
  • Management of chest tubes
  • Fresh trachs
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Care of post of patients
  • Epidurals
  • Management of non-titratable cardiac drips
  • IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
  • External BiPAP/CPAP
  • Total laryngectomy
  • Doppler flap checks
    Schedule Information
  • Shift Requirements: 3x12 or 4x12
  • Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
  • Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
  • Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
    Additional Details
  • Local rate rule: $15 off the BR. ICU, PCU and M/S Peds and Adult RNs residing in the state of Indiana are considered local and will be accepted at the local rate.
  • Valid Driver's License or Passport accepted. Must be clear copy.
