- Certification Details
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, Chemo, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification
- All certifications must be through AHA only. RQI is acceptable.
- Job Details
- Pre-Screening Question: IMPORTANT- This unit requires nurses with Med Surg experience, no previous Behavior Health/Psych experience is required, however, nurses must be okay with this population to be submitted. This unit is a secured medical unit.
- IU Health is now offering charge pay.
- MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS.
- IU Health University and Methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.
- Schedule Information
- Travelers MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT.
- Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12
- Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
- Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, alternatives include making up the day during the pay period or adding the shift at the end of the traveler contract
- Unit Specific Information
- Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU).
- Additional Details
- Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN's to work at their facilities with certain exceptions.
- Periop/OR RN's, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule.
