- Certification Details
- Valid Driver's License or Passport, clear copy required.
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM certifications may be required per unit.
- State License 1 Verification required – Online verification of license through IN.gov.
- Job Details
- IU Health will not allow IN RN's to work at their facilities after 11/30/24 with the exception of Periop/OR RN's, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers.
- Nurses with Med Surg experience required, no previous Behavior Health/Psych experience is needed, however, must be comfortable with the patient population.
- This is a secured medical unit dealing with patients who have a primary medical diagnosis but typically have a history of mental illness.
- Nurses will care for patients in alcohol withdrawal, with a history of IV drug use, dementia, aggressive behaviors, and general med/surg care.
- Charge pay is offered, with a bill rate bump per hour.
- Travel nurses must agree to the possibility of precepting or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.
- Job Requirements
- Must be flexible with weekend requirements, based on unit needs.
- Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract.
- Travel nurses are required to participate in charge nurse responsibilities pending operational needs with provided training and resources.
- Schedule Information
- Shift Requirements include 4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts.
- Call-Ins: Travelers have specific requirements to make up for missed contracted shifts.
- Unit Specific Information
- Nurses may be expected to float to different levels of care such as Med-Surg, PCU, ICU with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.
