What are we looking for?

The NDE technician will be responsible for performing nondestructive examinations on both new construction and existing equipment, primarily in power generation facilities. The techniques will include phased array ultrasonics (PAUT), ultrasonic thickness measurements (UTT), magnetic particle (MT), dye penetrant (PT) and others as appropriate.

The Ideal candidate will live in south/central TX.  Cities include Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Brownsville, McAllen, Waco, etc. 

Shift/Schedule:    8 am to 5 pm, plus occasional weekend work and /or travel hours

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $40- $55/hr. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

• Have a mindset of safety first
• Perform NDE per provided procedures in the field environment independently or with a team
• Provide NDE results with good organizational and report writing skills
• Maintain open lines of communications with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors
• Follow new NDE technologies and provide suggestions to managers
• Work with other NDE staff to maintain the NDE equipment organized, clean, and calibrated
• Assist in creating and improving NDE procedures and report templates
• Travel domestically and internationally to the job sites, conferences, and other Intertek offices, as needed

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• ASNT Level II UT certification (UT shearwave and UT phased-array)
• 2+ years' of work-related experience
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record is required
• Proficient with MS Office products, including Word and Excel
• This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States. 

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• AS or BS in engineering or related technical field
• Experience with NDE of power plant equipment and failure mechanisms
• Ability to read procedures, equipment drawings, isometrics, and P&ID's
• Level II MT/PT/VT 
• Has successfully completed the EPRI fossil NDE proficiency Assessment for Boiler Tubes, Girth Welds, and Seam Welds.
