Mechanical Integrity Program Manager – REMOTE

What are we looking for?

Intertek's Industry Services group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mechanical integrity (MI) programs and risk-based inspection (RBI) software implementation. This position will travel approximately 25% of the time.

Shift/Schedule: This position will be remote, and the successful candidate is expected to travel throughout the USA, so the schedule will certainly fluctuate.

Salary & Benefits Information:

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive MI programs for clients in the oil, gas, and chemical industries
  • Plan MI programs from start to completion including gap analysis, scope of work, inspection schedules with milestones, corrective actions, and resource requirements 
  • Utilize and implement Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) software to optimize inspection strategies and resource allocation
  • Ensure MI program activities adhere to internal and legal guidelines, standards and codes
  • Have demonstrated understanding of O&G and chemical plant processes to implement RBI strategies 
  • Understand Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Deliver training sessions on MI best practices and regulatory compliance
  • Evaluate NDE results and recommend future NDE.
  • Present project progress updates/findings/recommendations to clients and Intertek project team members
  • Assist clients with their corrosion and risk evaluations, and inspection planning reviews. 
  • Provide technical support to the Engineering team on PSM, AIM, MI, FFS and RBI projects
  • Pre-Sales/Sales Support for Intertek's Aware Software. 

Develop detailed specification for software development team to ensure software compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ASNT, etc.) and best practices. This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.  

The best candidate for the job will fully understand compliance with Mechanical Integrity Program as well as being experienced in implementing successful RBI programs!

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in leading mechanical integrity programs in oil and gas or chemical facilities 
  • Expertise in mechanical integrity programs and risk-based inspection methodologies
  • In depth knowledge of refinery and chemical plant processes and expected damage mechanisms on their equipment
  • Proficiency in RBI software implementation and usage
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA PSM compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of NDE techniques 
  • Strong analytical, data analyses, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (approximately 25% of the time)
  • Sales Experience
  • A valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required. 
  • Physically able to walk down and inspect power plants/refineries
  • This is a remote/hybrid position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States. 

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Prefer 10 years of experience in leading mechanical integrity programs in oil and gas or chemical facilities 
  • API 571, API 580 certifications
  • Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigation
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, ASNT, NACE)
  • Working knowledge with Intertek Aware, Mistras PCMS, GE Meridium, or Siemens PS-AIM / Ultrapipe is preferred Working knowledge of RCM
