Level II Eddy Current Technician for TAR Work
TEMPORARY PROJECT: 2-3 months beginning in late March
LOCATION: Washington State
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Level II Eddy Current Technician to join our Asset Integrity Management team for a 2–3-month project based in Washington State.
What are we looking for?
The Level II Eddy Current Technician will support the Industry Services business by performing assigned inspection activities to ensure that an object, material, or system complies with applicable codes, standards, and specific job requirements. We're looking for an experienced Technician for field set up and calibration of equipment, able to perform the required inspections in accordance with Intertek applicable procedures. Additional NDT certifications and experience are a plus. Must be willing to travel.
Shift/Schedule: this is a short-term, project-based position working 10-hour shifts, 6 days per week for a period of approximately 2-3 months beginning on or around March 21, 2025. Certification testing will take place in the weeks prior to travel to the site in Washington at our Houma, LA office, which will be fully paid at a training rate.
Salary & Benefits Information
The base wage or salary range for this position is $35.00-$37.00 upon project commencement at the client facility and will also be eligible for a per diem. Round trip air transportation will be provided. The base wage during the training/certification phase prior to travel will be $18.00. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons
What you'll do:
- Perform ET Inspections at a client facility under the direction of a Team Lead
- Perform Tubing ECT, PEC, RFT, IRIS, and various Surface ET examinations (required)
- Set up and calibrate equipment with respect to applicable Intertek procedures
- Should be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified and shall exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of assigned trainees and NDT Level I personnel.
- Interface with clients on technical matters involving NDE procedures and capabilities
- Provide a professional appearance when interfacing with clients and other coworkers
- Stay abreast of any new developments in NDE technologies that may be applicable in our business
- Apply examination criteria in accordance with applicable standards/specifications/procedures on the provided job scopes and evaluate test results
- Maintain open lines of communication with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors

What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in NDT inspection
- Prior Level II certification in ECT, PEC and RFT required. ACFM and IRIS preferred
- Prior Level II certification in MT, PT & UTT preferred
- Valid TWIC card (required)
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)
- Able to pass physical exam
- Ability to provide clear and technical guidance to other technicians and subcontractors
- Ability to solve technical issues in the field
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills and be fluent in English.
- Computer skills, especially various ET acquisition software and MS Office applications
