Emissions Technician II - San Antonio, Texas

What are we looking for?

The Emissions Technician will, under general supervision, use automotive mechanic hand tools and power tools to install, inspect, test, repair, rebuild and maintain all types of mechanical systems using work procedures and verbal instructions.

Shift/Schedule: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

What you'll do:

  • Performs test part preparation and test assembly.
  • Moves fuel system parts in and out of storage.
  • Performs fuel systems parts preparation and sampling.
  • Performs fuel flushes/changes as required by procedure.
  • Removes and disassembles test systems at end of test or at intermediate inspection points.
  • Perform troubleshooting on test equipment.
  • Performs VOC part preparation, sampling and analysis.
  • Receives and inventories fuel for VFLETS and company wide usage.
  • Supports specialty fuel blending as requested.
  • Keeping Inventory and Purchasing of Fuels in our department.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years mechanical experience required.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Must follow strict safety guidelines for handling and use of flammable liquids.
  • Legible handwriting, competency in basic math skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be available for overtime and/or shift changes on short notice.
  • Ability to tolerate moderate exposure to heat and noise.
  • Requires the use of safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 49 lbs
  • Ability to spend a majority of time standing, walking, crouching, lifting, bending.

 Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive mechanics desired.
