As a Senior Engineer, Satellite Control Systems, you will have the opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and innovative mindset to drive the development and integration of cutting-edge satellite control systems. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the operational readiness of state-of-the-art software solutions that support critical satellite engineering and operations.

You will contribute to enhancing the Ground Network System's architecture and performance and, automate key operational processes to increase efficiency and reliability. You will support a 24/7 satellite control environment, ensuring continuous and seamless operations.

What you will do:

  • Lead the development and integration of software solutions for the Intelsat Satellite Control Systems.
  • Manage the deployment and testing processes for the Ground Network System (GNS), ensuring operational readiness.
  • Coordinate with IT Operations, software development teams, satellite engineers, and operations teams to support the GNS and Software Defined Satellite (SDS) software.
  • Resolve technical issues related to GNS and SDS in a timely and effective manner, maintaining high availability and reliability. 
  • Solve complex technical problems by leveraging DevOps practices, automating testing pipelines, and improving overall system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the architecture and performance of the GNS, contributing to the continuous improvement of the testing environment.
  • Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks, streamline processes, and implement new technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.

 

 Your required experience/skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent, relevant experience in software development, integration, and testing, particularly within satellite control systems or similar high-reliability environments.
  • Proficiency in Linux and bash scripting, with strong experience in automation and DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines for test automation.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with databases, including SQL and MongoDB.
  • Proficient in Python and Java, using modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).
  • This role may be subject to ITAR/EAR regulations; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
