Description

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for providing human resources support to one or more business units as well as assisting in the effective implementation of policies and procedures. 

  • Under the close direction of the Human Resources Manager, performs the administration of the business unit's human resources function.
  • Administers human resources policies, programs and services, including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, employee relations, professional development, and compensation analysis.   Promotes firmwide diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • Maintains current knowledge and understanding regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources policies, programs, and issues.
  • Serves as point of contact for employee questions, information, and forms. Assists staff as necessary to promote a productive work environment and to ensure consistent and appropriate human resources practices and procedures are being implemented.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of employment files and performs data entry ensuring systems containing employment-related data is accurate.  Coordinates closely with Payroll for accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Assists in all aspects of the recruitment process including screening resumes, conducting interviews, reference checks, and making employment offers. 
  • Administers training and performance development programs; including orientation and on-boarding for new hires. Trains and coordinates staff on the performance management process.
  • Administers benefit enrollments and assists employees with company benefits questions and issues.
  • Processes unemployment and workers' compensation claims.
  • Provides employment verifications for current and former employees.
  • Processes terminations and conducts exit interviews. Analyzes data and makes recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Prepares and processes employment visa and permanent residency paperwork.
  • Coordinates employee recognition awards program.
  • Coordinates continuing education program for employees and maintains records for licensure.
  • Works closely with Corporate Human Resources and Payroll for guidance on firmwide related practices and procedure adherence.  Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement and the quality of services provided.
  • May perform administrative duties for the Human Resources Manager.
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources administration.
  • Ability to manage projects by maintaining direction and focus through proactive planning, organized approaches to work and effectively meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to create and maintain a collaborative team environment; to build relationships and effectively work with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.  Possesses influencing skills as well as the ability to present complex situations in a clear and simple way.
  • Ability to assist managers and employees through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.  Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm and controlled.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality and strong adherence to the practice of business ethics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in Dayforce preferred. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, organizational development, business management or other related field of study.
  • 3 plus years' human resources management experience required.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) certification preferred.
