POSITION SUMMARY:
Performance Objectives: To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience and Stewardship by: Demonstrating a professional, personable, administrative and cooperative support to the patient, Radiologists and Radiologic Technologists in various functions; assisting with patient care, accurate image and jacket control, maintaining viewers and completion of quality assurance tasks.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Adheres to Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
- Reports all malfunctioning equipment to the BioMed department, fellow associates and management.
- Performs and documents weekly system maintenance for the R2 unit (if applicable).
- Reports all malfunctioning IT equipment (i.e., telephones, PC's, paper printers, etc.) to the IT department, fellow associates and management.
- Completes specified jobs/tasks by deadline and/or provides requested information in a timely and concise manner.
- Knowledge regarding location of emergency equipment/supplies.
- Familiar with the Health First Emergency Kardex and responsibilities in relation to specified emergent codes.
- Responsible for hurricane preparedness and their particular responsibilities as a Health First associate.
- Ensures that all work areas and equipment is stocked, and cleaned.
- Ensures accurate and timely preparation for exams.
- Assists Technologist with all phases of exams, as applicable.
- Assists Technologist and Radiologist with QA / QC activities.
- Demonstrates accurate presentation of images for interpretation.
- Reviews "Result Log" and/or Pending Work Report for requested repeats and/or need for comparison film, notifies appropriate lead/ supervisor;/manager (as applicable).
- Participates in department QA process with accurate and timely data collection for review.
- Accurately and timely completes all file room functions.
- Ability to properly use the PACS system.
- Ensures all required documentation is scanned into the correct patient's exam folder in PACS.
- Access patient scheduling system (SCI) and print required schedules.
- Capable of working with multiple software programs: per radiology requirements and access rights.
- Provides clerical and administrative assistance to Customers and co–workers.
- Completes required documentation.
- Ability to perform basic computer skills pertinent to job performance.
- Monitors and complies with Joint Commission/ standards and performs all job functions in accordance with Federal, State, and Regional requirements to ensure compliance to these standards.
- Offers suggestions for departmental improvements; provides input for implementation of or revision of section protocols and/or department policies and procedures.
- Attends all mandatory meetings/in–services and reads and signs off on all meeting minutes as required.
- Previous general office experience of one year or more and prior Radiology experience preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrates the ability to relate well to all customers.
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service.
- Ability to perform basic computer skills pertinent to job performance.

- Ability to adapt to a combination of walking, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting throughout the shift.
- Ability to be flexible in covering required shifts (Mandatory overtime).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, several times a day.
- Willing and able to work with bio–hazardous / toxic materials following OSHA guidelines.
