POSITION SUMMARY

Lead the work of others by prioritizing and delegating the daily workload. Efficient handling of patient, associate and equipment issues as they arise. Immediately addressing situations while ensuring departmental standards are maintained. Actively performing patient radiology examinations 80% of the time and managerial duties 20% of the time for a minimum of 3 modalities (XR, MRI, NM, CT, Ancillary, RN, etc.). Participating with management on personnel and management issues. Making decisions in the absence of the Radiology Supervisor or Manager.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Maintain a safe environment for patients/customers, team members and yourself.
  2. Effectively document and communicate pertinent and required information.
  3. Perform procedure protocols, produce images consistent with image quality standards and follow all federal, state and regional healthcare regulations and adhere to Joint Commission/ACR standards.
  4. Participate in quality initiatives and offer suggestions for departmental improvements including departmental protocols, policies, and procedures.
  5. Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist?s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
  6. Communicate effectively with customers (patients, lip, other health first associates, the public, etc.) using excellent customer relation skills at all times.
  7. Practices the I–CARE promise.
  8. Utilize supplies/equipment with care in a safe, proficient and cost effective manner.
  9. Ensure computer data is appropriately entered for each procedure, ? charged completely and appropriately for all procedure(s) performed and supplies used.
  10. Demonstrate effective time management skills.
  11. Utilize Kronos time clock system properly; report to work area on time and follow break and lunch policies.
  12. Maintain flexibility, adapt to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the health first organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or equivalent approved school of ultrasound or radiologic technology.
  • Work Experience: Prior experience – 2 years technical experience.
  • Licensure:
    • Florida State Licensed General Radiographer (if applicable).
    • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
  • Certification: Current BLS certification or achieved within three months of hire.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to perform basic computer skills pertinent to job performance.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Associates Degree or Higher
  • Certification: Quality Management certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (ADA, Travel, Environment, Noise)

  • Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching majority of the shift.
  • Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or without assistance.
  • May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or over head.
  • May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
  • May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, dirt, grease or water.
  • May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of materials.
  • May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand–eye coordination to perform tasks.
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote.
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
  • Ability to be flexible in covering required shifts (Mandatory overtime and Call shifts.
