This ten-week paid internship can either be located in Chicago, IL or Richardson, TX

What Are Your Responsibilities?

This position is responsible for actively participating in an internship program that leverages your skills, knowledge and capabilities on the Information Security team while exposing you to different methodologies and tools. The security operations control analyst intern is responsible for working collaboratively with multiple teams and personnel, including other security operations center analysts, subject matter experts within the larger distributed cyber defense team cyber threat hunters, threat intelligence analysts and forensic investigators.  Additional project support, administrative tasks, and ad hoc requests to support business needs.

  • Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned.
  • responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
  • Create a final internship PowerPoint presentation to share with department leadership covering the internship experience, the assigned project over the course of the summer, including the results along with any solutions or recommendations that can be leveraged by the department in the future.

What Do You Need To Be Successful?

  • Ability to collect and develop metrics on cyber security incidents and produce charts and tables for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to interview cyber defense team members to capture and document processes to develop flowcharts of process decision points and interaction.
  • Knowledge around the installation and evaluation of cyber security tools and ability to perform proof of concept analysis for cyber defense.
  • Knowledge of common attack frameworks, attacker kill chains and defensive capabilities.
  • Interest in researching and understanding cyber-attacks and cyber threats.     
  • Knowledge of or interest in learning about hacking tools.
  • Ability to create reports for metrics reporting purposes.
  • Ability to research and evaluate a tool or threat, etc.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Practical, developed PC skills, especially Excel, Word, and Teams

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, MIS, Information Security, or Computer Science other related degrees may be considered.
  • Graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Availability to work 10 weeks during the summer (June 2025 – August 2025).
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. (Currently, we are not offering this position with a student visa including F1, OPT, CPT or H1B and are not accepting or sponsoring student work visas for this role)
