This position is responsible for providing legal advice, support, and coordination for more complex legal matters or projects; representing the company in detailed or difficult examinations, litigation and administrative proceedings; providing legal support to divisional management on specific business issues; representing the company with tact and diplomacy in dealings with federal and state regulatory bodies and government agencies; providing and initiating legal review, analysis, and research with respect to significant and complicated legal issues; and providing advice and guidance to less experienced attorneys and non-attorney staff as required. The position can be based in Chicago, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Helena, Montana, or Nashville, Tennessee Please note this role is a hybrid role. This requires in-office hours 3 days a week at the respective office location. Sponsorship is not available for this position.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.
8 years experience as an attorney with demonstrated understanding/experience of the health care or insurance field.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Negotiations and diplomacy skills.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
3-5 years recent experience in health care law and/or insurance law, particularly regulatory compliance and/or litigation.
Strong business collaboration and writing skills, including the ability to clearly provide legal counsel and solutions to complex issues.
