This position is responsible for constructing forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues. May perform research and assists in analyzing financial and health data, including medical algorithms to determine health care expenditures, medical and economic outcomes, and cost containment strategies. Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Produces datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tool and/or languages of high complexity with minimal assistance. Automates processes to increase efficiency and standards. The Advanced Consultant's primary responsibility is to leverage strong technical skills (SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Github) and healthcare industry knowledge (payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, epidemiology, etc.) to support and enhance client-facing engagements with HCSC's Commercial customers. The consultant will be accountable for the analytic support and consultancy for HCSCs Commercial Clients and advisory for internal senior-leader stakeholders related to population health and insurance.This role is on a hybrid schedule that requires visibility in a listed HCSC office least three (3) days per week.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:*Bachelors' Degree and three (3) years' experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics including one year experience in data analysis and information reporting relating to healthcare data, including pharmacy
OR
Seven (7) years' experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics including one year experience in data analysis and information reporting relating to healthcare data, including pharmacy.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:* Degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Public Health or related fields.
* 3 years' experience in analyzing medical claims data.
* Understands statistics, descriptive analytics, machine learning models, model evaluation and validation techniques.
* Versed in automation using Alteryx or Python.
* Displays analytical thinking, strong communication skills, openness to learning, results orientation, teamwork, initiative, and attention to detail.
