Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Under the general direction of the Cardiology Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care as related to the Cardiology Department.
  • Administers medications, monitors patient vital signs/EKG, and performs continuous patient assessment and documentation during patient's stay in the Cardiology Department.
  • Collaborates with Anesthesia team for care of patient undergoing anesthesia/sedation.
  • Coordinates patient teaching and post procedure assessment as needed.
  • Competent in performing emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory and operating EP/Cath Lab support equipment.
  • Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness.
  • Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of Cath/EP Lab are met.
  • Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedures.
  • Collects and assembles data for data base, outcome analysis and performance improvement.
  • Assists with and participates in continuing education and cross training between Cath/EP Lab areas. Staffs stay late and call requirements of department.
  • Supports CV Pre/Post staffing and procedures as needed. Participates in shared staffing model with other HCA facilities where licensing requirements met.

What Qualifications Would you Need:

  • Graduate of school of nursing required.
  • Current Kansas nursing license required; BLS required upon hire, ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills required. Basic computer knowledge preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year nursing experience in a cardiology related field preferred. Previous cardiovascular or electrophysiology laboratory experience preferred.
