Description

The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Analyst reports to the Sr. Manager of E-Commerce Digital Merchandising and is integral to the E-commerce business. The SEO Analyst is responsible for improving our website's visibility on search engines. Essential duties include conducting keyword research to identify relevant search terms, optimizing website content to rank higher in search results, and analyzing traffic data to measure the effectiveness of SEO strategies. This role is also responsible for monitoring trends, keeping up with search engine algorithm changes, writing SEO content, such as articles and optimizing category page copy, and working with developers to ensure the site follows best practices for SEO.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform keyword research to identify relevant keywords and guide content creation, optimization, and SEO strategy.   
  • Write or guide the creation of SEO-optimized articles, FAQs, and other content as requested.   
  • Collaborate with web developers to ensure site structure, speed, mobile-friendliness, and crawlability are optimized for search engines.              
  • Analyze competitors' SEO strategies to identify opportunities for improving rankings.         
  • Track, measure, and report on SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and other SEO platforms. Provide regular reporting on SEO performance and suggest improvements to leadership.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams, including merchants, QA product experts, and marketing teams.     
  • Stay updated on industry trends, algorithm updates, and emerging SEO best practices.        
  • Regularly conduct site audits to identify and resolve any issues that could impact search engine performance.       
  • Implement linking strategies to grow page and domain authority.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required in marketing, information technology, or related field.

Years of Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in e-commerce, on-site search, search engine optimization, or a related function.

Skills
  • Experience working with reporting/analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and SEO tools
  • Experience with SEO keyword research tools.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of tools.
  • Knowledge of SEO and related web traffic metrics.
  • Experience with workflow tools (Jira, Workfront, Trello).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, vlookups, etc.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and timeline-driven with ability to handle many competing priorities, fulfill several project requests simultaneously in a changing environment, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate in a rapidly evolving matrixed environment and to interact effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience working with multiple business teams and stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Strong customer service skills, the ability to work well under pressure with a variety of people; facilitating communication between teams.
  • Possess a motivated, “self-starter" personality, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing needs.
  • Track record of exhibiting end-to-end ownership of the processes they are responsible for, efficient problem-solving, and an ability to adopt new skills.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and in a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.

Physical Requirements
General office environment requiring ability to:
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time.
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
