The Clinical Research Registered Nurse is a hybrid position that provides patient care and case coordination to persons with HIV infection including pre and post test counseling, education of patient, family/significant others, staff and community. Assesses need for medical, social, psychological interventions and facilitates appropriate referrals. Established working relationships between community based service providers and hospitals to assure continuity of care. This position also encompasses duties which include subject recruitment and data collection for entry into a RedCap database. This position will provide educational materials to the recruited subjects.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • BSN required or BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing or social work experience.
  • Completion of a fellowship in endocrinology in a recognized institution.
  • Experience in endocrinology/diabetes and/or an affiliation with an academic institution
  • Adheres to the American Nurses Association standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service focus is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Ability to relate effectively to all levels of the clinical and administrative structure of the medical center as well as of other institutions affiliated with the Division of Endocrinology.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • HIV antibody testing and counseling training.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
  • BLS/CPR certification by the American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
