- Required Certs: BLS, ACLS (AHA only)
- Required to be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of NC
- Required Skills: IV Start
- 2 years Experience Preferred

- What does your units scheduling look like? Self scheduling model for the most part, every other weekend, schedule is 4 week
- Unit Specific Information
- 27 bed medical and surgical combined.
- General surgery and orthopedics, CHF, diabetes, general illness, sepsis
- Patient to nurse ratio is usually 5 patient assignment
- Usually staff with 3 aids and a unit secretary
- Orientation for travelers is typically 3 shifts
- Self scheduling model for the most part, every other weekend, schedule is 4 week
- Charting system: Meditech
- Floater policy: float rotation with potential to float to 1st medical, overflow unit or ICU

- What can I expect during orientation/how long usually? Orientation for travelers is typically 3 shifts. The first shift is more house-wide and general hospital, then 2 shifts of working with a nurse on the unit
- How often do travelers float and to what units? We are boosting up our staffing to be able to open and staff 1st medical, our overflow unit. We have a float rotation and try to float by turn. At times, staff are needed to float to ICU to help with any overflows or less critical patients. It is not frequent, but it could occur.
