Class Summary: Under supervision, direct and indirect, performs a variety of tasks, assisting in providing a learning environment in concert with the charter school's mission, philosophy, and foundational aspects. Prescribed procedures will be followed for typical, daily tasks. Independent judgment will be relied upon for unusual or unique situations.

Daily A1 2 Assists charter school teachers in grading and recording student assignments/papers using established guidelines and instructions. As Required A1 3 Assists charter school teachers in monitoring individual student and small group activities to ensure appropriate behavior and child safety. Daily A1 4 Assists charter school Teacher Administrator in financial accounts, generating reports, and processing purchase orders and warehouse requests in accordance with established procedures. As Needed A1 5 Coordinates facility use requests and processes requisite permits according to established guidelines. As Required A1 6 Assists charter school Teacher Administrator with coordination with maintenance requirements. As Required A1 7 Cleans/dusts equipment to prolong life of equipment and reduce maintenance requirements. Notifies maintenance personnel of equipment repairs and work orders. As Required A1 8 Provides immediate clean-up assistance to charter school teachers in the event of an accident (spill) or emergency. Daily A1 9 Coordinates with Teacher Administrator for all volunteer maintenance and janitorial assistance. As Required A1 10 Issues keys to appropriate personnel as directed by charter school Teacher Administrator, maintains and updates records and assists end of year key accountability. As Required A1 11 Assists in student enrollment, withdrawal, registration, attendance, etc., procedures. Assigns student identification number and enters above information into appropriate automated system. Daily A1 12 Provides assistance in the coordination and scheduling of student field trips and extra curricular activities. As Required A1 13 Provides a variety of clerical support functions including typing letters, memorandums, or flyers: sorting and distribution mail, filing, copying, laminating, and organizing information. Daily A1 14 Greets visitors, answers telephone calls, provides standard information, transfers calls, and/or records messages. Refers issues or concerns to charter school Teacher Administrator. Daily A1 15 Assists charter school personnel in serving student, teacher, and family needs. Daily A1/
B2 16 Intercepts unfamiliar personnel on school grounds, request identification and/or summons charter school Teacher Administrator according to established guidelines. Daily A1 17 Assists charter school teachers in providing first aid to students. As Required A1 18 Monitors student activities during other than classroom periods to ensure appropriate behavior and safety is maintained according to established guidelines. Directs students in proper use of school equipment/facilities and prevents and/or intervenes in student arguments/fights. Daily A1 19 Performs other duties as assigned. As Needed A1
Knowledge: Specific knowledge of and belief in the charter school's mission, philosophy, and foundational aspects.
Skills (position requirements at entry): Must have current first aid certification. Must have ability to comply with strict confidentially standards regarding school district matters.
Training and Experience (position requirements at entry): Previous education, training, work or life experience which provides reasonable evidence of the successful performance of the various tasks listed.
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry): Must have a valid Alaskan Driver's license.
Physical Requirements: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
