    Certification Details

    Job Requirements
  • Must have: 2 years ICU Experience
  • Advanced skills needed: preferred experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusion, ventilators
  • Procedures performed on unit: telemetry monitoring, paracentesis (physician led), BiPap, therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Certifications Required: Active nursing license in good standing (with compact if indicated), BLS required, ACLS required, current NIH (must be certified annually)
    Schedule Information
  • Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, three 12 hours shifts
  • Floating policy: May float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED
    Unit Specific Information
  • Number of Beds: 10
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1, 3:1
  • Unit staffing description: Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNC), RNs, PCTs, Nurse Externs
  • Type of equipment: Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, Vents, glucometer
  • Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
  • Patient Experience requirements: At least 2 years of ICU experience
  • Specific polices related to skill sets, procedures, etc. will be made available upon request, indicated need, and facility approval
    Additional Details
  • Dress Code: Navy or gray scrubs
  • Unit Guidelines/Policies: Specific polices related to skill sets, procedures, etc. will be made available upon request, indicated need, and facility approval
  • Awards/Recognition: Daisy Nominations, Inclusion in staff and hospital celebrations, Unit Prizes done bi-weekly for patient/staff recognition for exceptional team work and patient care
  • Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment, such as new equipment or technology, tenure and experience of staff, schedule options, etc.
