Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Sr. Tooling Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Director Materials, Sr. Tooling Engineer role involves being responsible for designing and engineering tooling protocols for plastics injections molds, jigs and fixtures as required to meet products specifications from their NPI phase until production support phase, as well as projects and associated profit with the appropriate safety, quality and lean standards.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Design and engineer moderately complex tooling protocols for molds, jigs, and fixtures as per product specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluation.
  • Management of molds in NPI, revision and manufacturing of DFM.
  • Management of molds in support of production.
  • Implement cost effective tool design changes.
  • Collaborate with other team members to qualification, sampling, and final part approval.
  • Provide status reports as per established schedule.
  • Identify critical components and register in spare parts warehouse.
  • In charge of the execution of continuous improvements in the area.
  • Responsible for carrying out scientific analysis method.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to tool room equipment.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Strong Plastics, automotive or medical industry experience.
  • BA/BS degree.
  • IATS norm knowledge
  • Verifiable knowledge of scientific molding, preferably MM1
  • Minitab Statistical analysis knowledge.
  • Advanced Microsoft office (excel, ppt, etc)
  • Advanced English.
  • NX & Solidworks strong knowledge.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in  analysis and problem solving.
  • Strong communication and negotiations skills with customers & suppliers
  • Ability to apply common sense and to analyze and solve tooling problems.
  • Molding Manufacturing previous experience.
  • CNC EDM Machine Programming.
  • Engineering Drawing analysis and interpretation.
