Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an SMT Process Engineer Manager located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the VP, Operations the SMT Process Engineer Manager role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Backend processes within the electronics manufacturing sector. This role requires extensive experience in program development, technical problem-solving, and process characterization across various equipment and methodologies.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians to establish and maintain statistical process control systems.
  • Establish and improve process capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Manage development projects that are designed to meet customer product specifications, delivery, and cost expectations.
  • Work with other engineering team members to design new products that can be manufactured.
  • Improve throughput in constrained areas.
  • Develop, test, and implement new materials and processes for improved performance and/or lower cost and manage cost reduction efforts in assigned process areas.
  • Partner with other engineering team members to design new products that can be manufactured.
  • Coordinate initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost, and improve performance in constrained areas.
  • Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
  • Characterize the paste printing process.
  • Develop programs and troubleshoot technical issues for chemical application processes (glue, edge-bonding).
  • Extensive experience developing and characterizing profiles (delta T) and preparing complex profiling boards.
  • Set up, manage, and understand various software for temperature profiling.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience as a Process Engineer in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the complete PCBA process.
  • Lean Manufacturing Knowledge.
  • Experience in SMT and PTH processes.
  • Knowledge of SPC.
  • English advanced.
  • Personnel management
  • SMT experience, with large complex density boards.
  • Availability to travel (Approx 20% per year).
