Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Tooling Manager located in Flex Skudai.
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Solution the Senior Tooling Manager role is responsible to
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead the design team and coordinate with Flex CD for new tool design, fabrication, review the DFM with customer
- Responsible from RQF, Quote, DFM, Tool Design, and Manufacturing to until Tool DPAP done
- Coordinate with Flex CD design team skills development from them and ensure quality tools delivery
- Contact point of customer for new tool manufacturing and ECN's implementation during and after tool fabricate.
- Perform audit/checking functions on critical design changes per procedures and guidelines
- Responsible for the trouble shooting and servicing of tools those running for the production of the precision components
- Providing engineering assistance in tooling manufacture, optimization, and commissioning
- Inspecting finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects, test, repair broken or damaged patterns, modify articles to suit the specifications.
- Cross verifying 100% manufacturability, tolerance, quality and accuracy of drawing within existing entitlement of lead times
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing tool room team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
- At least 15 years of related experiences in plastic molding tool design and development
- Minimum 8 years of managerial capacity
- Good knowledge of MS Office, Auto CAD, UG NX 10 & 11, Mold Flow, Moldex, ,3D/2D drawing, CNC Programming, EDM, Wire-cut
