To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Quality Technician located in Coopersville, Michigan.

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Technician role involves being in charge of performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs, first article inspections and calibration, inspecting flat blank layouts, out of box audit (OBA) and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Audits processes, tests, and inspects products while developing, compiling, and evaluating statistical data to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Performs complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause research, and internal and supplier corrective actions based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Interprets engineering drawings and schematic diagrams, collaborating with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects manufacturing processes for audits, checking for features such as ESD handling practices, documentation, training, and process integrity.
  • Chooses products for audits at various production stages, testing for dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic characteristics.
  • Records audit data using statistical quality control procedures and evaluates the data to write reports indicating deviations from standards.
  • Recommends modifications to existing quality or production standards and programs to optimize quality within equipment capabilities.
  • Performs calibration on inspection tools, maintains calibration records, prepares data graphs or charts, and conducts out of box audits (OBA) as required.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • 1 year or more of related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Basic comprehension of typical quality tools, such as 8d, statistical process control, FEMA and control plans.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • ISO / ESD Auditing experience is a plus.
