To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we're looking to add a Production Planner & Scheduler Intern located in our Austin, TX site.

Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the student will assist with daily engineering tasks while learning, collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Serves as advanced interface with the PM for escalations of order commitments, order expedites, and problem resolution
  • Leads order processing activities for designated customer units and advises associates regarding daily priorities of customer requests.
  • Monitors and proactively addresses issues that impact performance to committed ship date (CSD), lead-time, response time, and inventory goals.
  • Coordinates with Master Scheduler to manage product life cycle and related materials availability issues.
  • Drives process improvements inside and outside the area of Order Management.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and approves product releases to the production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
  • Provides input to management, reschedules, and /or interfaces with program management, master scheduling and production control to reschedule production in the event of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Represents Order Management on various Customer Focus Teams.
  • May also support inventory control, supply chain management, material planning, and scheduling.

Student qualities we're seeking for this internship assignment:

  • Junior or Senior student pursuing Industrial Engineering or related major
  • Enthusiastic about working in the manufacturing industry
  • MRP system knowledge/interest
  • Demonstrates data analysis knowledge
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts (probability, statistical inference)
  • Highly collaborative and excellent communication skills
  • Previous internship experience in a manufacturing organization, a plus!

Internship Program Requirements:

  • Available to start on May 27th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
