Farm is seeking a Principal Human Factors Engineer to join our talented and dynamic product development team and play a critical role in creating the next generation of advanced medical technologies. The Principal Human Factors Engineer will work closely with other HF Engineers, Industrial Design, User Interface Design and Engineering teams to develop a wide range of world class medical products for our clients.
The Principal Human Factors Engineer is responsible for supporting research and usability activities at Farm. He or she is directly involved with the design, development, and execution of research protocols.

As a Principal Human factors engineer, you will join a talented, multi-disciplinary team of human factors engineers, industrial designers, user experience designers, mechanical and electrical engineers. Together you will develop solutions that consider the physical, digital, and emotional aspects of the user experience, incorporate leading edge technology, and address marketing needs and business goals.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
- Undertakes user research, such as ethnography in healthcare settings, focus groups, preference tests, and usability tests (both formative and summative).
- Develops research materials, such as protocols, scripts, and data collection instruments.
- Analyzes research data and produces deliverables suitable for HF/UE files.
- Optimizes user interface design by integrating usability and ergonomics.
- Works on interdisciplinary teams with designers and engineers to analyze and evaluate data, conduct HF evaluations, and generate concepts, product specifications, and usability goals.
- Manages outside suppliers for participant recruiting and research facilities, language translation, etc.
- Author's documentation compliant to relevant standards for client medical device development programs.
- Provides accurate, well-defined, and articulate verbal and written presentations to clients.
- Participates in the interview process for new hires and endorses selections.
- Provides input, as requested, for the 360-feedback performance review process.
- Interacts with the design and engineering disciplines to develop good processes and close working relationships, good processes, and successful products.
- Receives assignments, instructions, and guidance from Managers and Program Managers.
- Supports business development efforts by attending prospect meetings and contributing to proposals.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in human factors, usability, engineering psychology, and/or research for related work experience
- 8+ years of work experience in medical devices
- Demonstrates expert operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.
- Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesse
