To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer  located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the Automation Manager the Manufacturing Engineer  plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support maintenance of manufacturing methods by performing the following duties in the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.

What a typical day looks like:

• Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts, technologies and techniques
• Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
• Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root-causes of equipment failures and develop hands-on maintenance skills.
• Work with other engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving and continuous improvement to the design of equipment and products and may develop corrective and preventive action plans
• May be involved in development and and update of PFMEA for new products
• May participate in control plan development
• Write and update work instructions and other documents (e.g. specifications, procedures).
• Examines and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Confers with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Coordinates with customers to identify product specifications and design changes and responds to customer request.
• Provides information for management recommendations from a technical and technical cost perspective.
• Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
• 5+ years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer, supporting an automated, medical manufacturing operation (FDA, ISO 13485).
• Experience working with and presenting to external customers.
• Understanding of reporting and tracking weekly and monthly KPIs and metrics including but not limited to OEE, Yield, Output, Quality, etc.
• Experience with validation, optimization and continuous improvement projects on automated manufacturing lines.
• Experience working with Mikron automated equipment (Preferred).
