Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Global Senior Mechanical Design Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Sr Director, Mechanical Engineering, Global Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role involves being responsible for designing, validating, and implementing innovative and cost-effective product solutions of complex scope to support the organization in prototype development through full-scale production.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Apply complex design practices and procedures to assigned product portfolio in areas like sheet metal design/fabrication, soft tooling processes (sheet metal stamping/fabrication, tig/mig/spot welding) and equipment; telecom infrastructure products such as chassis, cabinets, racks, shelving, etc.
  • Integrate multiple elements of finished design (such as backplane/interconnect, power distribution, and thermal management).
  • Work with other members of the development team to support corporate design initiatives.
  • Prepare recommendations for production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectations.
  • Assist in generating production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectations
  • Support actively customer base with design improvements that enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costs.
  • Provide complex technical support to customer base to enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costs.
  • Defines product design for Automation.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics, mechatronics, or similar engineering.
  • Experience in the Metal Mechanics industry
  • Advanced English
  • Experience in Value Engineering, VAVE, case studies.
  • Strong experience in product design for automation
  • Experience in creating a global centralized repository for all tools, systems, capabilities and materials.
  • Strong knowledge in Monthly Cost Savings Reports, Cost Avoidance, Internal and Customer OKRs
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in continuous improvement processes.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Teamwork.
  • Organized.
  • Schedule availability.
  • Demonstrates expert operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.

  •  Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/ technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
