Job Summary

Job Summary

The Commodity Manager Mechanical will be based in Guadalajara, North Campus. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and management of regional strategies to provide Flex segments and business groups with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. Working closely with the Supply Chain team / Local Management, the Commodity Manager – Fabricated Metals will communicate and implement strategies, contracts, and pricing to the Americas region with an overall focus on maintaining good supplier relationships and costs to a minimum to achieve maximum advantage for the company and its customers.
 

What a typical day looks like:

  • Establish and manage long term strategic and core supplier relationships and will engage with Flex sites and business segments
  • Guide the selection, development and management of Core and Strategic Suppliers to meet Fabricated Plastics commodity costs and performance goals
  • Implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization
  • Provide Materials Quotation centers with support from core and strategic suppliers in order to obtain competitive and timely quotes
  • Monitor current Raw and Fabricated Plastics commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate
  • Collaborate with Customer Supply Chain Managers and Product Introduction centers to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs
  • Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends.
  • Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience
  • Advance English (Advance Technical English)
  • Material and manufacturing experience including management
  • Strong technical background in Metal Mechanical technologies with processing experience in Sheet Metal, Metal Stamping, Casting, Machining & Extrusion is a MUST.
  • Knowledgeable of material properties of Raw Metals
  • Experience working with engineering and other professionals in a cross-functional organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English & Spanish
  • Office (Advance Excel & PPT)
  • Visual Basic
  • Supply management experience (negotiations with suppliers)
