Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Buyer Indirect located in Guadalajara, North.
Reporting to the Director, Commodity Management Indirect, Buyer Indirect role will be supporting operations in US and Canada only. The candidate will be responsible for execution and improvement of procurement activities at Flex. The principal accountabilities will be as below:
What a typical day looks like:
- Experience in MRO, IT and Services commodities, understanding of technical data sheets for spare parts & equipment, consumables, PPE etc.
- Understanding of contract management and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to set up contracts.
- Work with stakeholders to review and approve the requisitions received on a day-to-day basis.
- Renegotiate periodically the prices with the vendors and develop objectives, plans, and procedures for the timely, effective procurement of materials, supplies, and services, required by the company.
- Lead the sourcing process from start to finish, including guiding a cross-functional team through bid evaluation, selection criteria, supplier award and contracting processes.
- Implement Indirect Procurement strategies to consolidate supply base, increase the spend under management, expand Preferred Supplier List, and improve overall cycle time.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and stakeholders through quarterly business reviews, timely contract negotiations, and completing action plans.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, reporting capabilities, and consultative approach of facilities-related procurement.
- Heavy focus on Indirect Procurement policies, Financial policies, and compliance; always striving to do the right thing.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience
- Solid experience in procurement.
- Data analysis required, management expert Excel databases (Pivot tables, Formulas, macros).
- English proficiency is a MUST, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage small projects with minimal oversight.
- ESD - ANSI 2020 certification and/or Lean Green Belt preferred.
