Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fueler & Light Maintenance Technician to support our para-transit operations. This role is responsible for fueling and inspecting vehicles, performing light maintenance, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of the fleet, buildings, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open gates and inspect vehicle parking areas to ensure smooth dispatch operations. Reposition vehicles as needed to maintain traffic flow.
  • Open the fuel island daily, record accurate stick and meter readings, and submit inventory reports.
  • Maintain detailed records including Bulk Fuel Receiving Report, Fuel Variance Report, Closing Month-End Report, and Meter Calibration Report.
  • Notify management when fuel deliveries are needed and ensure correct procedures are followed during delivery.
  • Check and top off vehicle fluids including oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, and belts. Maintain adequate fluid and supply levels.
  • Inspect vehicle tires twice a week for damage and proper pressure; report any issues to the shop immediately.
  • Inspect vehicles during fueling or on a scheduled basis for physical damage, reporting any findings to management.
  • Maintain a fully stocked spill barrel and report any usage or replacements to the Manager.
  • Respond promptly to fuel spills by taking immediate containment action and notifying the Manager.
  • Keep inventory of supplies needed for light repairs and vehicle washing.
  • Clean the interior and exterior of vehicles as required to ensure a clean, professional fleet appearance.
  • Perform grounds maintenance duties including yard cleanliness, lawn care, and other assigned projects.
  • Complete additional tasks or assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable interacting with a wide range of individuals including drivers, customers, senior leadership, union representatives, and the public.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions.
  • Ability to drive company or personal vehicle for work-related tasks.
  • Must be able to:
    • Hear, speak, and see clearly.
    • Use manual dexterity for handling paperwork.
    • Stoop, crouch, squat, kneel, and bend when performing inspections and maintenance.
    • Stand for extended periods.
    • Work in wet, hot, or cold environments.
    • Write clearly and coherently for reporting purposes.
