Description

Performs the tasks necessary to act as a lead support role in the production of timely, error free, compliant in-house Consumer, Business Banking, SBA and Mortgage loan documentation to ensure that all approval and system standards are met, loan is uploaded accurately and timely to the core system, and funded accurately and according the Disbursement Agreement.

 

Takes a lead support role in ensuring all specialists process error free loan disclosures in a timely manner; communicates with Loan Originations Team, Financial Service Centers(FSC) and Underwriting on pending closing issues.  Examines closed loan files for completeness and accuracy, adheres to lending policy, resolves discrepancies, validates loans updated to core system or applicable interface and organizes files.  Support the Disbursement of Funds on all closed loans accurately and according to government mandated time frames, following through on all disbursements to accurate and complete resolution.  Completes the filing of mortgages for all real estate secured loans with applicable county.  Processes loan maintenance as needed. Addresses and responds to elevated questions and issues as they relate to Loan Originations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Supports supervisory role and responsibilities to assist the Operations Manager.  Requires but is not limited to in depth understanding of Loan Documentation.

2. Assists in training new employees, developing and maintaining department procedures, assures work quality, proper workflow and ensures cooperation within department.

3. Takes an elevated support role in coordinating workflow amongst team to ensure error fee and compliant loans are processed, uploaded to the core system, and funded accurately and according to established timeframes.

4. Participates in the testing of new systems, system updates, new processes, process changes and any other required testing as it relates to the Loan Origination function.

5. Assists with the preparation and verification of error-free, compliant loan documentation that conforms with the loan approval and core system standards/limitations.  Ensures that the documentation is promptly delivered for closing and funded without unnecessary delays, in order to assist bank personnel in providing excellent client service.

6. Communicates with internal approving authorities, internal partners, settlement companies, dealer entities, external customers, and others to resolve issues that may arise throughout the documentation process.

7. Communicates with manager in establishing and maintaining operating efficiencies through identification and resolution of workflow and work quality issues.

8. Continually reviews journals, articles, publications, system release notes, and other material to review regulatory and legal changes pertinent to the credit lending documentation function and to insure that departmental policies and procedures comply with all applicable laws and regulations; works with the Compliance Officers in this regard also. 

9. Works as a member of the Loan Originations team to identify and correct any problems relating to the lending function, e.g., credit services, internal operations, credit control procedures, etc.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications

1. An Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or a related field of study preferred.  A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in a related position or equivalent knowledge preferred.

2. Thorough knowledge of current lending regulations; a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures.

3. Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word required.

4. Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematical skills.

5. Proficient communicative and interpersonal relations skills.

6. Demonstrated supervisory skills.

7. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
