PCI provides Calibration, Commissioning & Consulting solutions to our clients across multiple regulated industries including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, food & beverage and more. We are seeking an Intern that is interested in learning about Calibration services within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. This is a challenging and exciting position that will give a student a valuable learning experience with FDA regulations in a highly technical environment. PCI is a great place to meet skilled team members, working together to achieve success for our associates and provide quality instrumentation services for our clients.This Intern position provides support to the Metrology Services Team in Raleigh, NC with various duties by being helpful, professional, cordial, friendly, and supportive.
About the Role
As an Engineering Intern, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to help document and analyze the functional requirements of our Metrology Services equipment and testing areas. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world engineering, quality, or operations setting.Responsibilities of an Intern may include:
- Functional Requirement Specifications of metrology equipment and testing areas
- Metrology Core and Pipette Stations, including:
- Infrastructure and utility requirements
- Electrical and mechanical specs
- Software and network needs
- Additional relevant components (as needed)
- Logistics and Directional Flow Charts for both internal and 3rd party equipment
- Physical Sizing and Spatial Planning of equipment and testing zones
- Contribute to other metrology documentation projects
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Physics, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized with a curiosity for how things work
- Comfortable with basic technical documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Visio or similar)
- Bonus if you've worked with flowcharts, diagrams, or basic CAD tools

This position is temporary without benefits, may be part or full time depending on business need, and is a non-exempt position.
