At FCX Performance/a subsidiary of Applied Industrial Technologies the Buyer/Specialist role has an immediate impact on our customers, on our company performance, and on personal earnings. This is a full-time permanent position at our Corporate headquarters Columbus, OH.
We are seeking a Buyer/Purchasing Specialist. This professional will be purchasing products and materials, updating and managing inventory and stock levels, building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities and delivery timescales.
In this role, you will perform a variety of duties which include:
- Update, verify, change and complete purchase requisitions (buy reports or purchasing requests) by comparing items requested to actual demand, minimum requirements and usage trend.
- Obtain quotes from vendors/suppliers.
- Resolve invoice and shipping discrepancy issues with vendors.
- Work closely with accounting and shipping department to resolve issues.
- Complete weekly or daily assigned reports, e.g. Cost Change, Unacknowledged, Open PO, Stock Analysis, etc.
- Help maintain system costs in P21.
Position Requirements
- Attention to detail: accurate data entry skills, basic math & reading skills.
- Use of proper English grammar, written and verbal.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Excel experience.
Preferred:
- 6+ months purchasing experience.
- Experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
