PATIENT DIAGNOSES: 4 East is a 31 bed (17 private 14 semi private) Adult primary Cardiac Unit – serving patients with cardiac diagnoses as well as medical surgical overflow. Common patient types include pre and post cardiac catheterization recovery, pre and post pacemaker/biventricular device insertion, Stroke, Atrial Arrhythmias (IV Cardizem IV Amiodarone) IV Heparin for MI, Stroke, PE/DVT and Vascular patients. Our primary patient population is Afib, NSTEMI and Heart Failure with many co-morbid conditions.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the 4 East Registered Nurse provides comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses with a specialization in cardiac patients, cardiac invasive procedures and telemetry monitoring. The registered nurse successfully completes a competency based orientation program to become proficient in serving the 4 East patient population.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Nihon Kohden Cardiac Monitoring System, Telemetry Monitoring, Bedside Cardiac Monitoring
