LOCATION: NYC, Hybrid 

SUMMARY:

This role exists to support the Managing Principal of Financial Services – Capital Advisory Solutions with an initial focus on the growth of the Alternative Collateral Facility that will be expanded to include financial analysis and ongoing transactions.

The ideal candidate will also take initiatives to develop solutions to solve problems and achieve goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain and create EXCEL spreadsheets for identifying and tracking universe of potential portfolio companies along with relevant information (company ID, name, credit ratings industry, collateral amounts, etc.)
  • Portfolio construction to meet given objectives (aggregate returns and portfolio credit ratings) given multiple constraints (single name limits, aggregate industry, portfolio credit constraints, etc.)
  • Build and update multi-year cash flow models based on based on selected portfolio, expected net credit losses, and risk transfer costs including resultant IRR returns to equity
  • Read and understand financial statements to extract and input data into credit models (S&P CapIQ) – upload statements and data to S&P CapIQ
  • Calculate & analyze credit spreads from available financial market information sources (Bloomberg and S&P)
  • Understand credit loss and recovery data
  • Distill financial information into clear and concise presentations (PPT, structure diagrams, etc.), providing insight not information
  • Effectively communicate with financial market participants, e.g. Goldman Sachs, Assured Guaranty, Greensledge, etc.
  • Facilitate negotiation of contractual agreements between CFO's and external counsel
  • Proactively interact with operating division contacts, Brokers, and Producers to investigate and resolve discrepancies
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree from an accredited College or University
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working within the Accounting, Insurance, or Financial Services industry
  • Technical skills – Excel including financial formulae (IRR, duration etc.), pivot tables, look-ups, macros, and plug-ins (Bloomberg S&P) etc. plus PPT and Word
  • Detail-oriented, accuracy with numbers
  • Critical thinking and problem solving in sometimes uncertain environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proactive, self-starter who asks clarifying questions to ensure understanding of assigned job tasks and responsibilities to produce a quality result each time

The national average salary for this role is $125,000 to $175,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
