Job Summary:
The HR Assistant provides general administrative support to the HR/OD Department and acts as a liaison between the HR department and employees, responding to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.  The position will be responsible for daily HR administrative functions including but not limited to processing employee benefits enrollments; responding to and preparing employment verification requests;  administration of the Tuition Reimbursement program;  prepares job descriptions for signatures and filing, uploads job summaries in applicant tracking system; assists in the processing of invoices for contracted and vendor services; sends no paycheck report communication to partner departments, ensuring the integrity of our employee database; maintains office filing system to ensure all employee files and documents are secured appropriately in accordance with PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and HIPPA regulations; filing, maintenance of internal department website; supports the coordination of various HR/OD projects (recognition events, staff meetings, benefits fair, benefits open enrollment, etc) and takes minutes; orders supplies for office

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office required, MS Excel required; PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, handle sensitive information and manage time, projects and deadlines efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to maintain an extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be well organized and able to prioritize workload; required to meet deadlines while working in a fast-pace environment with frequent interruptions.

 

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of previous Human Resources Department experience preferred.
