Job Summary:
Responsibilities include providing information for evaluation of existing American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer (ACoS) Program regulations, procedures and practices, and coordinating ACoS Cancer Program related activities with administrative and medical staff. This includes completion of requests for submission of data by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer & New Jersey State Department of Health, Cancer Registry. This position requires familiarity with the total operations of the hospital and the functions of its various divisions. Performs other cancer program related work as required. This position requires employee be detail oriented, efficient and organized. Supervise, plan, direct and coordinate the operations of the Registry team. Manage staff for optimum performance.

Hours: 8am - 4pm (variable start) 

 

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • Minimum of five years cancer registry experience.
  • Knowledge of current American College of Surgeons, Commissin on Cancer standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Very organized and resourceful.
  • Must be able to work effectively in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Associates' or four years of supervisory or management experience in a hospital, hospital regulatory agency or health related facility required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

Licensure, Registrations, and Certifications

  • Oncology Data Specialist, certified aka: Cancer Tumor Rregistrar Nation Certification through the National Board for Certification of Registrars required.
