Hourly Rate: $25.75

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Workforce Instructor is responsible for prescribing and instructing standardized lessons based upon individual participant needs and identified career pathways in an environment conducive to the learning experience, including supervision of participants and assessment of participant skill levels and progress to assist them with reaching the goals established in their ISS and/or IEP. 
  • The Workforce Instructor should assist, advise and counsel a diverse student population with regard for program policies and standards while demonstrating sensitivity to student needs and circumstances. This position is responsible for periodically administering orientation sessions to provide participants with the necessary program information. The instructor may also supervise participants during the work-based projects or work experience activities.
  • The Workforce Instructor should conduct meaningful, individualized case management sessions and maintain case notes as required by the funding source including filing and maintaining thorough, accurate participant records. 
  • Must be familiar with the Local and Regional Plans and will shape instruction to meet individual student needs and local and regional workforce strategies.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree, from an accredited College or University preferred.  Global Career Development Facilitator certification preferred.
  • One year of work experience in business or educational field; or experience working with the at-risk population is strongly preferred. Previous experience working as an Instructor/Teacher is preferred.
  • Must have an appropriate and valid state driver's license and be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers.  Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities.  We provide youth with development, academic instruction, career & technical education, and access to the 14 WIOA Youth Elements. We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
