Average Annual Salary: $55,000
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The College Administrator reports to the Deputy Director and is a salaried, exempt position. Responsible for organizing, planning, administering, and supervising the College Program.
- The College Administrator plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the College department. Ensures Job Corps-approved curricula is being taught in individual classrooms.
- The College Administrator acts as Job Corps representative with college programs and with outside agencies to and with this capacity always represents and promotes the Job Corps Program.
- Prepares and reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished and objectives attained.
- Ensures proper records of students' progress, performance, etc. are maintained by the Counselors and proper record of students' attendance is maintained.
- Formulates proposals and makes recommendations to the Deputy Director on all changes in policies and procedures pertaining to the College Department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in work-related field or an equivalent combination of education preferred.
- Two years' experience, to include two years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
- Prefer Master's degree in work-related field.
- Extensive experience with disadvantaged youth preferred.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Additional Requirements: Sound working knowledge of college. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to inspire and motivate staff. Must be able to compose descriptive reports. Ability to utilize appropriate techniques to implement program activities. Ability to verbally direct individuals and groups; remedy dysfunctional behavior; intervene with students in crisis with aggression control/safe physical management restraint techniques. Successfully complete mandated training courses. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
