Conducts all day-to-day tasks for new, relocating, closing, and existing stores as well as more complex long term project management related to assigned facilities maintenance trades including but not limited to preventative and reactionary maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical work, lighting, energy management systems, etc. Partners with service techs, other departments, field management, and stores to ensure work is timely and cost effective and identifies potential improvements that need to be made to Dollar General facilities.

Job Details:
  • Manages assigned new projects to meet company objectives. This includes working with various SSC departments to determine their needs and requirements, managing vendors in the field performing the work, gathering data for project reports, and managing the project to achieve the assigned capital/expense targets. 
  • Develops and recommends to director and senior manager various process improvement steps to increase efficiencies. Analyzes data, determining trends, and finding better methods to achieve the various components of their projects. 
  • Coordinates day-to-day tasks involved with assigned trades in facilities maintenance for traditional and market store locations. 
  • Analyzes and responds to exception service requests based on policies, assessment of need, and communication with the district managers and regional directors. 
  • Ensures that all polices, defined workflows and processes relative to lease compliance or landlord issues, and budgets are followed with the ultimate goal of controlling facilities maintenance costs, minimizing DG liability and the amount of down time associated with facilities maintenance issues.
  • Researches and identifies root causes of consistent facilities maintenance issues in assigned trades and presents to senior manager to avoid issues in the future and reduce overall costs to DG.
  • HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical or general maintenance knowledge, with a more advanced knowledge of assigned trade
  • Ability to be a team player and focus on the customer driven initiatives
  • Highly organized and advanced office skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, often with conflicting schedules
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of management and external vendors
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (preferably with a business emphasis) or technical degree with three to five years relevant work experience. Previous experience with control systems (such as EMS or building automation systems) preferred.
