Generates Dollar General and vendor systems enhancements and reports. Analyzes and interprets data, makes recommendations, and advises management on key decisions. Supports Sr Manager in an analytical and advisory role with development of benefit programs including strategic planning, plan design, implementation, vendor management, financial reporting, and data management.

Job Details:
  • Generates reports within benefits module of the HRIS database and vendor computer systems 20%
  • Analyzes data and advises management on key issues related to benefits programs, policies & procedures, systems & processes, and information technology. 25%
  • Project lead working with various internal DG departments and external vendors to develop program specs, test systems, audit data, analyze findings, and make recommendations to management to resolve any issues. Researches systems vendors, makes recommendation for and participates in vendor selection. 30%
  • Manages vendor systems relationships (those hired for systems support as well as the IT group/systems issues of all other vendors, such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield) and serves as primary contact for and resolves escalated vendor system issues; monitors performance of vendors per the terms of the contract, performance standards and guarantees; develops vendor metrics and action plans to improve vendor performance.  15%
  • Serves as a technical resource for the BSC supervisor and BSC representatives; provides mentoring for BSC representatives; conducts formal training classes for health and wellness area. 10%
Qualifications:
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft office programs, specifically spreadsheet, word processing and database management
  • Advanced working knowledge of Lawson HRIS database benefit module
  • Ability to learn multiple computer systems (vendor systems)
  • Strong organizational and mathematical skills
  • Good quantitative and qualitative reasoning ability
  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple tasks and merge internal and external resources
  • Solid project planning, problem solving, analytical, and decision-making ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and results oriented environment
  • High school or equivalent required; college degree preferred. 

  • Five years benefits experience required with three years experience with payroll, HRIS and benefits administration systems required. 

  • Experience/training in project management and quality management, exposure to record keeping systems preferred. 

  • Formal or accredited coursework in insurance or employee benefits required; professional certification preferred. 

  • Coursework in computer applications preferred.
