Our community is looking for a Fitness Coordinator to join our team.  

The Fitness Coordinator will oversee the Fit Camp program for the community.  Responsible for implementing the Fit Camp core program, promoting wellness participation and increased physical activity at all ability levels. Through resident engagement including assessments, training, group exercise and programming, the Fitness Coordinator will help residents achieve and celebrate personal success leading to a healthier community.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements fitness programing for the community that includes various levels of resident abilities and interests.
  • Teaches (or subcontracts) a variety of group exercise classes in the community To include:  strength, balance, flexibility and endurance with aquatic exercise as needed.
  • Follows the Fit Camp Core Program as outlined in the Fit Camp Training Manual.
  • Teaches residents the correct use of the HUR equipment (using RFID technology).
  • Demonstrates proper technique and use of all fitness equipment and ensures residents have sufficient knowledge and skill when using the equipment.
  • Recruits residents to participate in Fit Camp and other fitness programs meeting minimum monthly standards as outlined in the Fit Camp Training Manual.
  • Provides each member with a complimentary personal training session to meet the individual's fitness needs and personal goals (including setup with HUR smart card).
  • Conducts one-on-one fitness assessments using the Senior Fitness Test; designs and implements a customized fitness program for residents with different abilities.
  • Reviews resident comparison and attendance reports on a monthly basis; provides individual feedback based on results to adjust or maintain current program.
  • Monitors resident participation and contacts them if attendance wanes.
  • Provides ongoing guidance for residents with regard to their fitness goals and proper use of equipment. Providing quarterly follow ups.
  • Manages resident concerns or questions related to the program.
  • Provide operations summary reports on class attendance and equipment usage to Executive Director on a monthly basis.
  • Participates in fitness and wellness learning programs on annual basis.
  • Ensures personal certifications are kept to date; completing coursework when necessary.
  • Maintains CPR Cert & HIPPA Compliance.
  • Plans and carriers out educational activities to support fitness programs at the community.
  • Participates in marketing events.
  • Administers resident satisfaction surveys per guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Certified Personal Trainer by accredited governing body required:  ACSM preferred.
  • Four-year degree in kinesiology preferred. Two-year degree is required.
  • Three to five years' experience in strength, balance, flexibility and endurance training is required. Experience with seniors is preferred.
  • Must be willing to obtain a balance certification
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
