Description

Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Health Educator Specialist. The Health Educator Specialist provides personal care and professional excellence by working with the Wellness Department in administering and promoting various programs designed to meet health care needs of the community and area businesses.

Job Duties:

Manages, develops, facilitates, and implements health prevention programs, training workshops, school or community presentations, and activities for businesses and organizations in the community and reports to the director of Wellness

Develops a strategic plan with director to provide proactive healthcare education and initiatives within our hospital and community.

Establishes, expands, facilitates, and sustains initiatives, programs, and/or partnerships that engage key stakeholders and community members to address community health priorities

Research current trends in health & wellness education and promotion to develop programs accordingly, and monitor, assess and review educational programs for effectiveness.

Delivers targeted, culturally appropriate information to help individuals and groups understand health promotion and disease prevention information of all ages.

Develop messaging and design marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, social and digital media content to promote health education activities/programs.

Shift Details:

Hours: Full Time, 40hours/week

Shift: Day Shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Weekend shifts required on an as needed basis

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in health education, Public Health, Nursing, or related field

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential

Certification in Tobacco Cessation counseling a plus, or willing to become certified within 1 year

BLS Certification required

Five years' experience in health education or public health setting

Must have valid driver's license
