FlexStaff is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our client's team, an addiction treatment center located in Brooklyn, NY. This is a temporary full-time position with various shifts available to accommodate different schedules.

Responsibilities:

- Administer skilled nursing care to patients under the supervision of the RN.

- Ensure timely and accurate administration of medications following Safe Nursing Practice standards and provider's orders.

- Document individual patient progress notes, including COWS scores, CIWA scores, and vital signs.

- Record patient activities such as admissions, discharges, transfers, and ER visits in the EMR.

- Monitor and document patients' detox progress and behavioral responses in medical records.

- Document treatment interventions and patient responses in medical records.

- Educate patients on medications and document their comprehension and compliance.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on changes to patient treatment plans.

- Perform daily checks on emergency equipment like the Emergency Drug Box and Oxygen Tank.

- Conduct unit inventory assessments of medications, supplies, equipment, and stationery.

- Prepare nightly diet order forms for the unit.

Skills:

- Experience in an addiction treatment setting preferred.

- Proficiency in medical terminology and medical-surgical procedures.

- Ability to work in an Inpatient or ICU setting.

- Capability to lift and assist patients as needed.

- Familiarity with geriatric care practices.

- Knowledge of suturing techniques is a plus.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Diploma from an NLN accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses.

- Current and valid NYS LPN License in good standing.

- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Substance Abuse or Psychiatry.

The salary range for this position is $36.5-$36.5/hour
